What can I say? Carlos is a star! Full of stories, always with a joke, and the kind of guide who makes you forget you’re even walking. My whole family loved it! From the kids to the grandparents. And trust me, the kids are not easy to impress! We left with a completely different view of Porto. Already planning to come back with friends. Highly, highly recommended!

We did the Braga and Guimarães tours with Carlos and it was incredible. He took us beyond the main sights and shared stories you won’t find in any guidebook. Bom Jesus in Braga felt even more magical with his insights, and Guimarães came alive in a way we never expected. If you want to truly understand the north of Portugal, spend time with Carlos.

I do not usually hire tour guides when I travel. I was a bit reluctant to do so. My travel friend suggested it. I am extremely thankful that we did. Carlos was AMAZING! What impressed us most was how Carlos brought history to life in such an engaging and accessible way. We covered centuries of history, from the founding of Portugal to the unique character of Porto today. The tiles at São Bento station will never be just ‘pretty tiles’ for us again. For anyone who values historical context and local insight, this tour is a must.

Braga surprised us in the best possible way. We came for the famous Bom Jesus staircase, but we left with so much more. Carlos showed us the layers of this city,  from its ancient Roman roots to its deep religious traditions. In a way that felt personal and never overwhelming. Standing at the top of Bom Jesus, watching the sun set over the city, hearing the stories behind each step… it was one of those moments that stays with you. If you want to feel Braga, not just see it, this tour is a must.

We had an amazing walking tour of Porto with Carlos! He was really informative and gave us lots of local tips, and photo stops and some great hidden gems. I thought I knew Guimarães from reading about it, but walking through it with Carlos was a completely different experience. He has this way of making history feel alive like the city itself was telling its own story. It felt like exploring with a passionate local friend who happens to know everything about Portugal’s origins. The castle, the Palace of the Dukes, the winding streets… all unforgettable. Can’t recommend this enough!
